Radical Jewelry Makeover
Radical Jewelry Makeover (RJM) is an international community jewelry mining and recycling project. It brings together jewelers, working together to examine mining issues while making innovative jewelry from recycled sources.
Annika Rundberg is an emerging jeweler new to the Boston area, with established retailers primarily in New Mexico. The recipient of three work-study scholarships at the Penland School of Crafts, she had pivotal experiences at Penland in 2010, 2012, and 2013 where she was inspired by and developed formative relationships with Douglas Harling, Rachel Miller, and Anika Smulovitz. Annika holds a B.F.A. in Metalsmithing and Jewelry from New Mexico State University and has studied with Amy Tavern at Arrowmont School of Crafts. Ethical practices and social responsibility in working with our earth’s ebbing resources has been a constant consideration in her work, evidenced by her lecture on ‘Mining Practices in the Southwest’ at the Radical Jewelry Makeover kick-off symposium at Sante Fe Community College.
